Product strategy

I take on product strategy work as a freelance product manager, for founders and teams. I work out who the problem belongs to and what to build first, and write it down in documents your team can build from.

01 / Audience

Who it’s for

  • Founders who want to test the problem before they build
  • Teams whose product has stalled and need a clear next bet
  • Companies that need PM-led discovery without a full-time hire

02 / Deliverables

What you get

  • Opportunity brief: the problem, who has it and why it is worth solving now
  • Discovery and opportunity solution tree: what users told us and the options it opens up
  • PRD: what to build, for whom, and how we will know it worked
  • Roadmap and decision memo: the order of work and the reasoning behind it
  • North Star metric tree and experiment spec: the metric that matters and the first test against it

03 / Process

How we work

  1. Understand the business and users

I learn how the business makes decisions and who the users are, from your data and from conversations with them.

  2. Discovery

I talk to users, map the opportunities and test the assumptions that would sink the product if they were wrong.

  3. Decide and write it down

We pick a direction, and I write the PRD, roadmap and decision memo so the reasoning outlives the meeting.

  4. Hand over to build

The plan goes to your team, or we build it with you through MVP development.

Common questions

What does a product strategy engagement look like?

We start by understanding the business and its users, run discovery, then decide and write it down. You get an opportunity brief, PRD, roadmap and decision memo, and we talk through each one before it is final.

Can you also build what we plan?

Yes. My team builds as well as plans, so the plan can carry straight into MVP development with us, or go to your own team.

Can you work with our existing team?

Yes. I work closely with engineering in my current PM role, owned the roadmap for an AI product at SOYL AI, and prioritized CRM work with several stakeholders at IntelAbroad. I work within how your team already runs.

How is this different from hiring a full-time PM?

Freelance work is scoped to a problem and ends with documents and a decision. If you are hiring for a full-time PM role, choose the hiring option in the contact form and we can talk about that.
